Group members enjoyed a relaxing week-long break on a boat. The social club took time out to navigate the Norfolk Broads in Norfolk, stopping off on its travels to bird watch, canoe and visit an historic castle. Members took turns to steer the boat before arriving at Salhouse Broad where they went rowing in canoes.
They then visited Ranworth where they walked through the nature reserve and saw the birds of the broad.
St Benet’s Abbey, a castle which was built in the 11th century, was next on the group’s travels before the members headed off Great Yarmouth where they walked along the seafront and enjoyed the seaside attractions.
Member Francesca Barclay said: “Norfolk Broads is brilliant as you get to steer the boat on different rivers and see a variety of countryside, villages and nature tours along the way.”
The group meets on most Fridays at Goodmayes Community Centre in Green Lane, Goodmayes, at 8.30pm.
