Redbridge social group raises £1,000 for adventure playground for disabled children

A Redbridge social group has raised £1,000 for an adventure playground which helps young people with disabilities. Members of the social group, which organises activities like trips to the Norfolk Broads and pool competitions, visited ELHAP on Friday to present the charity with a cheque.18 Plus member Francesca Barclay, 28, of Springfield Drive, Newbury Park, said: “They let children be a bit more free and choose what they want to do and be more active. They can use their imagination a lot more.”She added that she was impressed with the facilities on offer in the adventure playground, including a giant see-saw and a Doctor Who-style Tardis. ELHAP started in 1976 and offers play opportunities to young disabled people through school visits and holiday playschemes.
