Best Group in Region for second year running

The social group has held on to its title for the best group in the region for a second year in a row. Redbridge 18 Plus, which organises events, trips and outings for 18 to 40 year olds, is part of a national network. It won three trophies at the East Anglia region con­ference Best Group, the Roy Gordon Trophy, for suc­cess in events, and the Foot­sore trophy for supporting other 18 plus groups. Co-chairman Francesca Barclay winning the Andy Pitkin trophy for her indi­vidual contribution was the icing on the cake. She said: "It was fantastic to win the trophies, particu­larly the Best Group award two years running. "It just shows the great en­thusiasm of the group's members, who deserve cred­it for this success, and the friendly atmosphere within the club." The group meets on Fri­days at Redbridge Central Library, in Clements Road, llford, at 8.30pm.
